GIRLZ ON FIRE TRAINING: BIKE and RUN

All are welcome!  Perfect opportunity to learn the basics for beginners, but also a challenging sprint repeat workout for more experienced athletes.
Racks will be set up in parking lot between 4th and 5th streets
7:00 – 7:15 am – Set up T2
  • Revisit how to set up transition area for efficiency and simplicity
7:15 – 7:45 am – Bike
  • Turn right on trail and easy warm-up ride to intersection where trail meets East Avenue.
  • Practice climbing East Avenue, appropriate gearing, managing effort.
  • Right turn on Osceola, then right turn on 3rd street
  • Practice descending 3rd St, slowing into traffic circle, dismounting.
  • Recover, repeat, as time and ability allows
  • Easy spin back to transition area
7:45 – 8:15 am – T2 practice
  • Practice running or walking into T2 while pushing bike.  Keep helmet buckled until bike racked.
  • Run through efficient T2

8:15 – 8:45 am – Run

  • Run out, turn left on trail. run out and back.  Athletes can choose their own distance, up to the full 5k turnaround just past the bridge.  Whatever time and ability allows.
8:45 – 9:00 am – Q & A
