Hello, I am interested in vacationing in the Clermont area in late May. I am from Ohio and am planning on doing a Sprint Triathlon in Ohio on June 21st. I have been trying to find a place to get some open water swimming in, so the first time wasn’t during the race. What are the requirements if I would like to come out for the open water swim? Also, how long/far would I be able to swim? I would at a minimum like to go a 1/2 mile.

Hi David! So glad you will be coming to Clermont in May. Non-members are welcome to join our Friday morning open water swims. We just ask you to sign a waiver to join the workouts vary from week to week, but typically exceed 1/2 a mile. And you are welcome to continue swimming on your own if you’d like to get in more distance/time than the organized OWS. There are poles that many triathletes swim along in the lake at Waterfront Park, which is where our local races are held. Hope to see you in May!
